Description:The Sutherland Papers Collection contains much correspondence relating to the Unit after the conclusion of it’s work in November 1918. A Letter from the British Red Cross Society, dated 19th December 1918 from Commissioner Arthur Lawley writes: ‘I can only express my conviction that not a word too much has been written or said as to the excellence of the services which you have rendered to sick and wounded soldiers of the Allied Armies, as well as to destitute civilians in Belgium and France.’
