Date:November 1906

Description:In an earlier letter from November 1906 Watson refers to the ‘speed indicator on 24. H. P. Fiat ‘. The Duke’s Fiat car was experiencing technical difficulties which Watson describes in his letter, writing that ‘at present the indicator registers one mile in six too much’.

Watson had been instructed to fit a new speed indicator ‘in the centre of the dash’, and remarks that ‘there is no reason why the company should not adjust free of charge’

Watson accompanied Cromartie Sutherland-Leveson-Gower (1851-1913), the fourth Duke of Sutherland, to motor shows. His letter refers to the Duke's intention to visit a show on the 15th and 16th November. Watson writes to Simpson ‘I should like all the time I can get in the show also a little time to get the 24 Fiat ready for the road’.
