Description:As one of the top patrician landowning families in Britain, the Sutherland family spent vast amounts of their income on entertaining, family jointures and general domestic expenditure. This document details the cost of one dinner party at Stafford House, which was only one small part of the £30,000 per annum spent on travel, clothes and entertaining by the family.
