Description:This plan marked 'Chamber Plan' shows the layout of rooms on the first floor of the Children's Home. The entrance hall featured a staircase which led to the first floor where the children slept. Both the girls' and boys' sides of the school had separate sick wards. A nurse lived on the boys' side of the school, and the Matron appears to have served a similar function on the girls' side of the Home. The division between the two sides of the Home was maintained upstairs, with separate dormitories and toilets. A Visitor's Gallery was situated in the centre of the building on the first floor, presumably for people visiting the Children's Home for various reasons.
