Description:A further plan indicates that the layout of the ground floor of the Children's Home was revised. In this plan a linen room joins the Matron's Room on the left hand side of the building. Similarly, a library now occupied the room which adjoined the Master's Room. In the corridors between each wing of the Home and the central Dining Hall, store rooms feature on the plan for 'shoes'. These store rooms were presumably where the children stored their shoes, perhaps when they went into the Dining Hall. Indeed, the Dining Hall appears to have been used for more than just the serving of meals. A pencil annotation on the plan marks 'space for organ' at the back of the Dining Hall, suggesting that the room was used for assemblies and perhaps the singing of hymns.
