Description:Repairs to the Mansion House itself also feature on the list. One entry states that ‘the Flooring of the Dining Room’ needed to be taken up ‘so as to enable them to put Saw Dust’ in. The saw dust was required ‘to deaden the sound of the voices in the Steward’s Room’. Lord Stafford suggested that this was ‘to be considered’.
