Description:One of the many advertisements from clothing companies in the Sutherland Collection comes from the 'Dr. Deimel Underwear Depot' in London.
Dated 27th April 1906, Dr. Deimel's advertisement comes in the form of a letter addressed personally to the Duke of Sutherland. The letter reveals that the Duke had recently received a 'booklet' from the company advertising Dr. Deimel's products and instructing gentlemen on 'the essential points necessary in a good underwear'.
Dr. Deimel's letter reminds the Duke that underwear should be 'porous and pliable' and 'a quick absorber and eliminator of moisture'.
