Description:Another advertisement from Jaeger appears in the Collection, promoting their 'pure wool' shirts and pyjamas. This illustrated advertisement states that 'woollen clothing is the safest & coolest in tropical countries' and suggests that cotton and linen were 'impervious' and could cause 'dangerous chills when damp'. Jaeger were eager to point out that only pure wool should be worn in 'warm climates', and that not doing so would 'endanger life'. Although this statement may appear dubious by modern medical standards, the Jaeger advertisement suggests that 'those who have sufferred from malarial fever know the great truth of this'.
