Description:One of the most attractive documents relating to food is an illustrated catalogue for ‘Carr’s Chocolates Toffee and Confectionery’ from 1926. The catalogue lists the type of chocolates which the company supplied, including a variety of assortments, liqueurs and toffees such as ‘Milk Chocolate Walnut Creams’ which were priced at two shillings and fourpence for a six pound bag. Chocolate Marshmallows, Chocolate Mixed Fruits, Chocolate Neopolitans and blocks of Nut Milk Chocolate feature alongside chocolates in ‘Theatre Boxes’ and ‘Fancy Boxes’ for special occasions. The toffee sold included ‘Cherry Almond Toffee’, and buttered marzipan, ginger and walnuts.
