Description:On 6th June 1906 Fortnum & Mason Ltd. Wrote to the Duke of Sutherland ‘in view of the forthcoming Yachting Season’. The company enclosed their ‘Catalogue of Yacht Stores and Provisions’ for the Duke and enquired whether he would send them details of ‘the number to be catered for’ and the particulars of his cruise for them to suggest a ‘List of Stores’. They conclude their letter adding ‘upon hearing from you we shall be pleased to send our representative (free of charge) to give the fullest particulars and to receive your esteemed commands’.
