Description:The account book lists many subscriptions to societies including a subscription of one pound and one shilling to the ‘Temperance Society’ and a donation of three pounds and three shillings to the ‘Society for Widows’. Reflecting Duchess Harriet’s interest in Elizabeth Fry’s work, the volume also lists a donation of one pound and one shilling to the ‘Female Penitentiary’.
