Description:Duchess Harriet was also involved in organising Queen Victoria’s Maids of Honour. In January 1851 Harriet wrote to Windsor Castle stating: ‘I have received the Queens instructions about the Maids of Honour’. The letter includes ‘the new rota’ which Harriet had ‘sent to each Maid of Honour’. A note is written in a different hand on the reverse of Harriet’s letter which states that ‘The State Page is commanded to deliver the enclosed revised Rota of the Maids of Honor’s Waits for the current year’.
