Description:‘The Plan of the New Kitchen Garden at Trentham’ featured above was produced by John Brunton, the gardener at Trentham Hall. Sue Gregory suggests that work on a new five acre kitchen garden had begun in the 1740s with a new hothouse, as well as hotbeds and hotwalls. Brunton produced this planting plan once the new garden was completed.

The plan shows the nursery ground, the orchard and the ‘mellon ground’ in the kitchen garden. Intricate drawings show elevations of the large stove and the flues which were fitted into the firewalls in the garden.
