Description:The image above shows a plan of ‘Trentham Coppy’ which was made in 1727. The Coppy was the name given to the coppiced woodland in the Park at Trentham.
The plan includes a ‘Table Shewing the content of each quarter of woodland alsoe the walks', revealing that walks had been incorporated into the land at this time. The plan also shows ‘the great cannall’ and ‘the little canall’ in the Park. In addition, the plan features a letter ‘Z’. Annotations tell us that this is ‘a hollow where the water may be lett into ye coppy from ye canall’.
