Description:Sue Gregory suggests that work began on a new five acre kitchen garden in the 1740s. This new garden was positioned to the east of Trentham Hall and included a hothouse as well as hotbeds and hotwalls. In December 1746 John Edwards was paid one pound, sixteen shillings and six pence ‘for cast mettle bars for the Hothouse Nursery’.
