Description:Functional rooms such as the wine cellars, kitchen, scullery and larders are also addressed in the document. Annotations on the right hand side of the description appear to have been added by the Marquis of Stafford, explaining what he would like done. Referring to the Cook’s Room, the Marquis suggests it was to be finished and ‘the room behind to be appropriated for the use of the Housemaids to be white washed merely’. The Marquis recommended that a ‘speaking trumpet’ was to be put in place ‘to communicate from the Entrance Hall into the Servant’s Hall’.
