Date:17th of July 1834
Description:In a letter dated 17th July 1834 Wyatt explains that he had spent a few days at ‘the sea side’ in an attempt to recover from a recent illness. The Duke of Sutherland had written to Wyatt requesting ‘a sketch for the Balconies’ at Stafford House. Wyatt’s letter refers also to ‘the Venetian Windows’. The intricacies of design are evident in Wyatt’s suggestion to the Duke that ‘the side divisions’ of the windows ‘should not be glazed as low down, as the center compartment’ incase it ‘would occasion awkwardness inside the Room’.
