'The Assuaging of the Waters' in the Sutherland Papers

Date:25th of July 1840

Description:A further letter in Duchess Harriet’s papers from Martin’s son Leopold C. Martin dated 25th July 1840 also refers to The Assuaging of the Waters'. Leopold writes ‘in the absence of my father from town for a day or two, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of a cheque from His Grace the Duke of Sutherland for £262.10 being the remainder of the amount for the Picture of the Assuaging of the Waters’.
