Description:Amongst the many newspaper extracts is an article from the Staffordshire Sentinel from March 1908 entitled ‘Federation of the Pottery Towns’. The article states that the ‘New Borough’ was to be called ‘Stoke-on-Trent’ informing the public that 78 councillors were to be elected in the November of that year. The document is amongst the earliest to use the new name ‘Stoke-on-Trent’ for the new county borough.
