Description:Amongst the documents relating to Francis Coppinger’s clandestine marriage is an interrogatory of the Chaplain at the Hospital of the Savoy where Francis and Elizabeth were married. Mr. Bygges, or John Biggs, had been responsible for marrying the couple. He was asked a number of questions, including whether ‘dew order’ was ‘lawfully obserued’ in the marriage proceedings.
