Description:One of the most extravagantly decorated rooms on the second floor of West Hill was the Large Upper White Bedchamber.

Amongst the more lavish items which the room contained was ‘a Capital 5ft6 Fourpost Bedstead’ which had ‘mahogany carved feet pillars’ and two pairs of ‘white India Dimity French rod Window Curtains’.

This room also contained a considerable number of chairs, including ‘Eight green painted spindle back rush seat elbow chairs’ and a ‘Japanned frame scroll end sofa’.

Mahogany wardrobes and chests of drawers also featured in the room, alongside ‘an oval Japanned foot bath’.
