Description:The Survey of Hooks Green Farm from 1820 tells us that the small cluster of red buildings on the 1820 plan formed Robert Tildesley's 'Messuage' on the land.
The Survey describes croft land which was used for pasture land and for growing oats and beans. Other land such as 'Pool bank' and 'Far Cullamoore' were used for meadow land and for growing wheat. 'Little Hill' was used for growing barley in 1820 and oats in 1821 and a plot of land named 'Fingerpost Field' was used again as wheat.
This survey can be used alongside the 1820 plan to examine the agricultural history of Hooks Green Farm during the early nineteenth century.
