Description:This document shows a list of subscribers to donated money towards ‘paving the Town of Stone’ in 1778. Earl Gower donated twenty one pounds and appears at the top of the list as providing the highest donation. In total, eighty three pounds, three shillings and six pence was raised in subscriptions. The list indicates that although most of the donations came from men, women also contributed money for the purpose, including a lady named Elizabeth Nickinson who gave ten shillings and six pence to the fund.
