Date:13th of June 1798

Description:Thomas Heath worked for the Leveson-Gower family as a mining Superintendent, overseeing Granville Leveson-Gower (1721-1803), Marquis of Stafford's collieries in North Staffordshire.

This letter from Heath tells us about his character and principles concerning work at the collieries.

Heath writes that his 'mode of doing business' was 'never to let an apparent imperfection pass into practice' but to 'make the needful improvements at an early period'.
