Thomas Heath agreed with Joseph Lockett and John Brown to get all the coals beyond the distance of forty yards from woodmine pit in Botts? Meadow on the north side at the price of three shillings per cart load, to have four shillings for all the level beyond 82 yards to the fault happen at what distance it may be within the Marquis of Stafford’s liberty, to get and clear away all the coals to the fault and old work at the said price of three shillings per cart load at four shillings until the work comes within forty yards of the pit and after they have finished the same to T. Heath’s satisfaction then the said Joseph Lockett and John Brown to get all the coals within the said distance of forty yards from the pit at the present price they now have that is two shillings and sevenpence per cart load as witness our hands.
