Description:The Horizontal Distances of the Coal Mines in Mear Heath.

1. SILVER MINE on Grange coal. 2 foot thick, roof mingled with red. A bad sulphurous coal.
2. FENTON LOW, coal 27inches thick, black clod roof. Distance from no 1, 920 links.
3. LYMESTONE. 20inch thick, clod roof, 4 foot ironstone above that, distance from no 2 950 links.
4. BASSEY MINE. 27inch, thick stone roof, distance from no 3, 570 links.
5. PEACOCK. 27inch, distance from no 4, 200 links, clod roof.
6. SPENCROFT. 4 foot thick, distance from no 5, 200 links bass roof.
7. GREAT ROW. 8 foot good coal, distance from no 6, 150 links, white clod roof, commonly called. 10 foot clod.
8. CANNEL ROW. Stew coal included 7 foot bass, roof distance from no7, 230 links.
9. WOOD MINE. 5 foot thick, clod in the middle 18inches, bass roof. Distance from no 8, .
10. DEEP MINE, 3 foot, distance from no 9 200 links. 200 links. Bass roof mingled with ironstone.
11. CHALKY MINE, ironstone 12 foot, distance from no 10,183 links.
12. LITTLE MINE, ironstone 9 foot. Distance 183 links.
13. KNOWLES MINE, 7 foot, distance no 12 390 links. Roof white clod.
14. RYDER MINE, 27inches, distance from no 13, 1200 links.
15. ASH MINE, 7 foot. Distance from no 14, 113 links. Very heavy clod roof.
16. TABBERNERS MINE, 4 foot. Distance from no 15, 933 links. Mostly very bad roof.
17. GINN MINE, 3 foot. Distance from no 16, 370 links.
18. SMITHFIELD MINE, 3 foot. Distance from no 17, 950 links. Good coal clod roof.
19. DOCTORS MINE, 27 foot. Distance from no 18, 360 links.
