Date:9th of April 1787

Description:This plan shows an area of Anchor coal removed by Mr Smith at Meir Hay. The plan tells us that there was a coal heading 83 feet long, x 4 foot by 4 foot square, driven north east partly through Mr Smith’s gob.

The Surveyor Mr. Thomas Heath, notes that the content of coal in the gob wall work was 87 and a half yards x 7 foot thick, and the superfial of the heading was 31 yards x 4 foot square.
