Description:A number of documents relating to this case concern the ‘Articles of Examination’. These Articles were questions which were formulated by the legal authorities ‘to examine generallie all maner of persons’ about the incidents in the case.

Before witnesses gave their statements they were required to swear an oath ‘that they uppon their oaths severallie taken doe declare the truthe as they and everie of them will annswere to the contrarie as well noew as at the dreadfull daie of iudgment’.
