Description:Amongst the many documents relating to clothing in the Sutherland Collection is an advertisement for 'Jaeger' of Regent Street, London. The advertisement promotes the company's 'pure wool men's shirtings & pyjama suitings'. The advertisement includes a range of material samples. In addition to flannel and wool,cambric, the samples also include 'pure wool materials' called 'tropics', 'taffetta' and 'light lattice web'. The advertisement 'strongly recommended' the use of these materials 'for vests and short draws during hot weather'. Illustrations of these vests and draws can be seen on the reverse of the advertisement'.
