Date:1914

Description:The Sutherland Papers contain a huge number of papers relating to the sale of lands on the Leveson-Gower family's estates in the early twentieth century. These papers, many from 1914, include a variety of maps and plans of the lands being sold. Amongst these maps is a detailed plan of Hill Chorlton Farm. This was offered for sale by Messrs Knight, Frank & Rutley, Land and Estate Agents from London.

The plan shows a number of properties in the area, such as Springfield House which was near to Carlton Mill and Mill Pond adjacent to the Parish of Swynnerton. Stableford and Stableford Bridge also appear on the plan, as does Yewtree Cottage and the London and North Western Railway Line. The Chapel in Hill Chorlton also features, south of the boundary with the Parish of Whitmore.
