Description:One notable and ornate volume in the Sutherland Papers is a household and administrative diary for 1868. The diary itself was kept by Duchess Harriet’s household staff and records the Duchess’s activities and information relevant to the running of a household at this time. An entry for Friday 3rd January reads: ‘Her Grace left Stafford House for Chiswick’. A further entry for Thursday January 16th reads: ‘Her Grace out for a drive’.
