Description:A brief letter from John J. Chapman at Stone Rural District Council dated 21st November 1907 survives amongst the Eccleshall papers. Chapman writes that the ‘New House’ to be built at Cotes ‘will be reported to the Council at their meeting on Tuesday next, when certificate will no doubt be granted’. The letter demonstrates that Cotes was undergoing development in the early twentieth century.
