Description:Many letters written to Mrs. Ingram, the Housekeeper at Trentham Hall, include details about the Sutherland family, household staff and the provision of supplies. In the letter above, Mr. Prentice, the Clerk to the Duke of Sutherland’s Accountant writes to Mrs. Ingram with details about the family’s visit to Trentham Hall. The letter, dated 5th March 1874, also tells Mrs. Ingram that Prentice would send a Kitchen Maid and also ‘a Cooked Ham & Tongue’ for the sideboard.
