Description:The Estate Accounts in the Sutherland Papers contain a wealth of information about life on the Sutherland estates in Staffordshire and Shropshire from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries. The image above shows pages taken from accounts for the Lilleshall Estate which tell us about money received and paid out by the Estate in the middIe of the nineteenth century. The page above lists receipts of money which were paid to the estate, including a payment of one thousand one hundred and thirty pounds which was paid by the ‘Wellington & Severn Junction Railway Company for Land sold to them’.
