Description:Geoff Mould from the North Staffordshire Mining History Group has examined documents in the Sutherland Papers relating to collieries in Meir Heath and Hanley in the late eighteenth century. His illustrated article includes geological description of the mines at Meir Heath and Hanley in the late eighteenth century and a description of mining related correspondence in the Sutherland Papers.
