Date:24th of June 1891

Description:The Sutherland Papers include a ‘Plan of Property at Codsall’ which was sold by the Duke of Sutherland at Auction in 1891.

Dated 24th June 1891, the plan shows the land in Codsall in lots, including ‘The Pines’ which was situated near to the junction of Oaken Road and Lansdowne Avenue in Codsall. The Pines was a large property which had a conservatory and an attached stable, situated in ample grounds. The property also had a number of outbuildings, including a large shed and a ‘Dutch Barn’. An illustration of The Pines is included in the bottom right hand corner of the plan. The bay windowed property had a large exterior porch and a semi-circular conservatory, making it a very desirable property in the neighbourhood.

In addition to its picturesque qualities, The Pines was situated near to roads from Oaken and Wrottesley and only a three minute walk away from Codsall Railway Station, making it well connected.
