Description:Many of Duchess Millcent's letters from George V are of a social nature, reflecting the interaction of the Sutherland and Windsor families. In a letter from October 1895 written from the Jockey Club at Newmarket King George thanks Millie for his visit to Dunrobin and tells her about going to see a play called Her advocate which he enjoyed.

In a letter from June 1930 King George thanks the Duchess for sending him some old Russian menus which she gave to him as a birthday present. The letter reveals that the menus dated back to 1896.

A letter from Crown Prince Wilhelm similarly thanks Duchess Millicent for his stay with her family. In another letter Crown Prince Wilhelm describes Christmas holidays.

Duchess Millicent’s correspondence also includes letters relating to important public events, such as the Coronation of George VI in 1937.
