Description:The letter above was written by Mr. Harrison at the Staffordshire Potteries Water Works Company, Albion Street, Hanley in 1883. The letter was sent to the third Duke of Sutherland’s Agent George Menzies and concerns two portions of land at the Meir in the Parishes of Caverswall and Stone which the Company wished to purchase from the Duke.

Harrison informs Menzies that he had met with Mr. John Elliot to survey the portions of land proposed and sends a plan of the areas made in 1882, showing the position of each piece of land.
